Potty Training

Here is what we've been doing a lot of this summer.  Zane pick up this new skill very quickly and is 100% potty trained IF he is naked.  If he is wearing pants, he is 5% potty trained.  There was one time he actually sat on the potty with his pants on and went.  There are a few problems.  Part of it is my fault, I'm sure.  We should probably go "cold turkey" and just deal with it if he potties when we're out of the house, but I have been putting him back in diapers when we go to the gym or church or other places.  The other problem is that he wants to go all on his own, but it's hard for him to pull down his pants with his cast.     He does not announce the deed until it is done which is actually pretty cute.  He comes from the bathroom doing a little dance with his face all lit up.  He claps his hands and points to his mouth indicating that he deserves candy.  I should get this "after potty dance" on video.  He can say a lot without ever saying a word!

Zane is Broken

We took Zane to the ER for the 2nd time in a month.  This time there wasn't any blood, but I knew it was broken as soon as I saw him.  Karis, Alli, and Edin had just arrived for a visit when the 3 kids went downstairs.  I was upstairs holding Edin and talking to Alli when I heard a thump followed by crying.  Zane was sitting on the floor between the rocking horse and the slide.  Alyssa said that he was crawling off the horse and hit the slide.  He does not usually get on the horse without us but I'm sure he was trying to be like the big girls.  He was very calm, but I knew it was broken because of the unnatural curve of his forearm and he was holding it with his other arm.  I feel guilty because I had moved the horse over by the slide to vacuum just recently.  Uugh!  My children are soooo breakable!
