Broken.....again
We're beginning to worry that something's wrong with our baby. She is just now 2 and a half and this will be cast #3. The story...she was playing with her cousins in the office at James's parents house this weekend. They say that she was getting down from sitting in the office chair and landed on her hands and knees. She cried and grabbed her arm but within ten minutes seemed to be "over it." The next day she came down the slide, feet first, but came fell forward onto her arms. She cried again grabbing the same wrist, but seemed to, for the most part, be fine. She has been obsessed with ouchies lately so we thought maybe she was just being dramatic. Tonight, she was playing with a friend, picking up large toys, swinging them, throwing the large boucy balls, crawling up on things, etc... She rolled off the ottoman...and again grabbed the same arm crying. Well, she didn't seem to get over it as quickly this time and after three days of this we decided to drive to the immediate care center. Long story, short, it is broken. They put a brace on it and we'll need to go get a cast at the orthopedic doctor. They said that both bones below the wrist are broken but the one in the larger bone is more obvious.

Growing Up
So there are a thousand little things that Alyssa has done that make me smile and I hope that I never forget. This blog is the one place that I can think to write some things so that they will not be forgotten as time passes. For that reason, I've decided to type some of those things down from time to time. So here is the list that I can think of (some of which are old and some are new):
1. Bunnet (the area commonly known as a belly)
2. Milp (Milk) ....by the way she will start speech therapy next week.
3. Roar
4. Boobies (either Alyssa's armpits, bottom, or a boo-boo depending on the context)
5. Alyssa-"I have an ouchy."
Daddy-"Where?"
Alyssa-"Right here.(points to cheek)"
Daddy-"Do you want me to kiss and make it better?"
Alyssa-"Yeah."(Daddy kisses cheek) Alyssa-"I have another ouchy."
Daddy-"Where?"
Alyssa-"Right here. (points to other cheek)
6. Walking on tippy-toes/galloping/hopping everywhere she goes.
7. "Hold you, Mommy???"
8. "Sing ABCDEFG, Mommy? Sing ABCDEFG???"
9. Alyssa-"Sing 'For', Mommy? Sing 'For'."
Mommy-"I don't know what you're talking about."
Alyssa-"For the Bible tells me so."
10. Modert. (Yogurt)
11. "I want my lips." (Lip balm)
12. "Eeeeek!" (What a snake says)
13. "Make the basket! I want in the basket!" Definition of basket--Mommy or Daddy must sit with their legs propped up under a blanket. Alyssa then crawls up and plops herself down in the middle, i.e. the basket.
14. "EVERYbody likes candy"
15. "I need a rubberband"-- bandaid
16. Daddy--"I'm going to eat ICE CREAM! HA HA HA!"
Alyssa--"I'm going to eat Lettuce! HA HA HA!"
