Death is not Dying

I was reading Women Living Well. It's a blog (link in sidebar) that is written by a Christian woman with a lot of good thoughts and advice. She suggested a link which took me to another sight that led me to this video called Death is not Dying. It is a speech given by a young woman who has been told that she has maybe a little more than 6 weeks to live. She talks about her faith in God. It is 55 min. but worth listening to.

New Video Camera

James got me a video camera for Mother's Day and since Alyssa is talking more and more everyday, I had to share. She surprises us everyday by saying a phrase or even sentence that we haven't heard before. These video clips are all things that we've prompted and even that was hard to get her to hold for. I wish I had some of the random things that she says. Like a week or two ago she ran to me and said, "Daaaaaaady eeeeeeeat nack!" At day care, she said "No run, Riley! Stop!" Today she said "Look a ball" and "Where'd it go?", but it's a little harder to catch the unexpected on video. It's fun to watch her learn new things.

Pee Pee in the Potty!!!!

So I'm getting Alyssa ready for "tub-tub" and she starts to open the potty. I think, "I'm undressing her anyway, let's sit down." I start filling up the tub with water while she is sitting on her little pink potty.....then she says, "wet" and points between her legs and I get a glimps of yellow!!!! So I did a little dance and yell for daddy to come and see and we clap and yell and make a big deal. Soooo, she takes her bath and I pull her out and let her run for a minute without her diaper. I turn around and, oh no....there is a poopy right on the floor. Uugh! So I grab her and take her back to sit on the potty while I cleaned up the #2. And can you guess what she did??? She went pee pee in the potty again!!!! Two steps forward, one step back but I think she might be ready to potty train this summer!
